Software Localization
& Testing
The international market is fundamental for software
companies, but competition is fierce and companies have to work
hard to succeed. Developing a package that is well-suited to the
local market is essential for businesses that want to have an
international prescence and is one of my key areas of expertise.
As in the case of websites, users prefer applications
translated in their own language and adapted to their cultural
environment. Understanding a program means avoiding mistakes and
achieving a higher performance. That is why software localization
is so important for the marketing of the product.
A well localized product assures that the user
will feel comfortable with the product, since it will be adapted
to their cultural standards and will meet all the legal requirements.
The user will also be able to input data, addresses, dates, etc.
in his or her own language and use the language's national characters.
I have worked in the localization of many
software products. I have also participated in the software testing
of different IBM products in IBM laboratories located in the US
and also in the IBM Translation Center of Barcelona. Please check
